The “Do Nothing” Budget, the No Public Debate Budget Cuts... whatever you want to call it, it needs to end!
Each day we go without a budget more and more families in Illinois are going without services. From child care assistance to teen REACH after school programs ($13 million in FY15) to higher education ($1.9 billion in FY15) to support services for seniors ($8 million in FY15), every family in Illinois is being impacted by our elected officials playing politic with our families stability and future.
The economic stability of Illinois weakens everyday without a budget. Service providers are laying off employees, Colleges are losing world renowned professors and are in jeopardy of having to close their doors, senior citizens are moving into assisted care facilities because of the loss of home services. The longer this impasse goes on the harder it will be for families and our state to recover.
Contact your representative and tell them enough is enough. Our families, YOUR FAMILY cannot afford another day without a budget!
